FOOD SERVICE WORKER (FULL AND PART TIME) at LSU
About The Position
The Food Service Worker prepares, presents, and serves food as needed at Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. The position may be offered full-time or part-time, and schedules may vary based on operational needs. This role requires one year of customer service experience and pays $11.00 to $14.00 per hour. The position is part of a campus food service team. Work may be reduced or paused during educational facility breaks, potentially resulting in unpaid temporary layoffs. Depending on business needs, associates may be required to work year-round, possibly at a different location during break periods. Applications are accepted on an ongoing basis until openings are filled.
Requirements
- One year of customer service experience.
- Ability to perform the essential functions of the position satisfactorily, with or without reasonable accommodation.
Responsibilities
- Prepare ingredients by washing, peeling, cutting, and seeding fruits and vegetables.
- Weigh and measure designated ingredients.
- Carry food pans, kettles, and trays between work stations, stoves, and refrigerators in accordance with safety standards.
- Store food in designated areas while following wrapping, dating, food safety, and rotation procedures.
- Clean work areas, equipment, and utensils.
- Distribute supplies, utensils, and portable equipment.
- Use approved food recipes and production standards to maintain quality, serving temperatures, and portion control.
- Serve customers in a friendly and efficient manner according to service procedures.
- Resolve customer concerns and relay relevant information to a supervisor.
- Follow company service standards and inventory and cash control procedures.
- Comply with sanitation and safety requirements.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
