The substitute Food Service Worker will work in a local school kitchen or cafeteria on an as-needed basis. The role supports food preparation and service, sanitation, inventory and cost controls, and cleaning. The position is with The Nutrition Group, a food service management company that serves clients meals throughout the year and operates in seven states. Requirements

• Obtain required clearances and pass criminal background checks.
• Be able to read recipes and perform basic math.
• Demonstrate a positive and consistent work ethic.
• Have reliable transportation to and from work.
• Be willing to learn and grow in the position.
• Have excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Cook and prepare food.
• Portion and serve food.
• Perform sanitation in accordance with USDA and state guidelines.
• Comply with HACCP and health department regulations.
• Assist with monitoring costs and inventory controls.
• Operate a cash register and handle money.
• Wash dishes manually and perform cleaning duties.
