About The Position

The Food Service Worker prepares food for clients according to the facility menu while following all safety procedures. The role includes food preparation and service, maintaining clean work areas, monitoring food and equipment temperatures, handling inventory and orders, and washing dishes. The position is full-time and hourly; shifts and days vary to accommodate service needs seven days a week.

Requirements

• Demonstrated knowledge of food safety procedures.
• Demonstrated knowledge of federal, state, and local regulations and requirements.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision.
• One year of experience as a cook in a commercial kitchen.
• Must complete food service worker training within 30 days of hire.
• Must obtain CPR/First Aid certification within 90 days of hire.
• Must have negative TB test results from within the last 12 months.

Responsibilities

• Prepare food according to facility recipes at a high standard.
• Keep assigned work areas clean and orderly.
• Transport food to other sites if necessary.
• Check and log food and equipment temperatures, report problems to the supervisor, and report equipment needing repair.
• Record overproduction and run-outs, write directions, and calculate production quantities.
• Receive orders and take inventory.
• Serve food to clients and staff.
• Wash dishes.
• Promote inclusion through Culturally and Linguistically Appropriate Services (CLAS) Standards.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.
