About The Position

The Food Service Worker performs a variety of food service activities in a state youth or adult institution. Service activities include setting-up condiments and panning food, food portioning, preparing food trays, serving on food lines, clearing, and cleaning dining and serving areas, putting away stock and kitchenettes, and washing dishes, pots, and pans in a volume dining or food service facility. Employees ensure the various dietary needs of clients, patients, students, and inmates are met to adhere to specific nutritional requirements and dietary needs. Employees monitor and review prescribed dietary orders. Follows portion control guidelines.

Requirements

  • Six months of experience in customer or food service
  • Food Handlers Certification within 30 days of appointment OR completion of the Marion County Advanced Food Management Principles and Concepts Training, including HACCP Certification, at the time of appointment
  • Must always be current & certified in safe hood handling certifications
  • Valid Oregon Driver’s license
  • Able to speak, write, understand, and follow written & verbal instructions in English
  • Able to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Able to work during inclement weather
  • Effectively operate standard food service equipment
  • Able to work hours that are subject to change with little notice; may be required to work hours that exceed the regular schedule
