About The Position

The Clinical Compliance Specialist for the Oregon State Hospital (OSH) serves as the clinical compliance subject matter expert for the nursing specialty area to enforce regulatory compliance typical for credentialing. This role applies nursing education and experience to enforce regulatory compliance on clinical matters in collaboration with leadership, providing professional expertise to management and staff throughout the Oregon State Hospital system. This position requires in-depth clinical knowledge on complex compliance and quality-related activities as required by various federal, state, and local regulatory agencies.

Requirements

  • Five years of experience doing administrative research that included compiling and evaluating facts to recommend management action or decide compliance or eligibility with program guidelines and regulations.
  • Three of the five years must be above the technical support level.
  • College-level coursework may substitute for experience on the basis of 45-quarter units per year, up to a maximum of three years.
  • A bachelor's degree in business or public administration or a related degree and two years of the specified experience.
  • A master’s degree in business or public administration or a related degree and one year of the specified experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Registered Nurse license from the Oregon Board of Nursing
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in healthcare regulatory compliance, quality, or accreditation.
  • Experience with the Joint Commission, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, Oregon Revised Statutes, Oregon Administrative Rules and other healthcare regulatory agencies.
  • Experience interpreting regulatory laws, rules, and policies, and conducting compliance reviews/tracers.
  • Experience implementing quality and continuous improvement methods such as lean, six-sigma, and total quality management.
  • Experience working with methods of organizational, program, and statistical analysis.
  • Experience writing and analyzing general, statistical, and technical reports per the Joint Commission (JC) standards.
  • Knowledge of Hospital Quality Improvement programs.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, PowerPoint and Adobe applications.
