About The Position

The Food Service Worker/Delivery Driver prepares and delivers meals for the Jefferson County Senior Nutrition Program. The role prepares and serves a variety of food items according to assigned work instructions and menus within a correctional setting, and drives a company vehicle along an established route or territory. It also involves loading, unloading, and delivering goods to customer locations. The position is onsite inside a jail or correctional facility.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED and/or equivalent experience.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Understand food-handling regulations.
• Able to meet physical demands including lifting, bending, pushing, kneeling, walking, and standing for extended periods; must be able to stand for much of the scheduled shift when not driving.

Responsibilities

• Learn the delivery area and follow proper delivery procedures.
• Check orders for quality and accuracy.
• Prepare and assist team members in preparing quality foods promptly according to the planned menu, recipes, and work instructions.
• Help with food preparation, serving, and kitchen maintenance.
• Serve food during planned meal schedules according to department procedures.
• Use kitchen utensils and equipment to cook food according to recipes.
• Clean and sanitize work areas, clean as you go, and maintain a neat, food-safe workstation.
• Load, unload, and deliver products and orders promptly to customer locations.
• Keep the vehicle clean and report needed vehicle maintenance or repairs to the manager.
• Perform routine kitchen tasks, including removing trash, sweeping, and mopping.
• Carry out other responsibilities as determined by business needs.
