FOOD SERVICE UTILITY (PART TIME)
About The Position
Restaurant Associates, part of Compass Group, is hiring a part-time Food Service Utility associate at The California Endowment in Los Angeles, California. The position maintains kitchen work areas and keeps equipment and utensils clean and orderly. The schedule is Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday, with hours that may vary; further schedule details are provided upon interview. A valid Food Handler's card is required. The pay range is $18.00 to $21.00 per hour. The role includes cleaning and sanitation tasks, moving and distributing supplies and equipment, assisting with banquet and front-of-house setups, and loading, unloading, or delivering supplies and products. Associates must follow sanitation, safety, and company policies, including requirements for protective gloves, slip-resistant shoes, and proper lifting techniques. Other duties may be assigned. Requirements
- A valid Food Handler's card is required.
- Must be able to perform the essential functions of the position satisfactorily, with or without a reasonable accommodation.
- Use medium-weight cut gloves when handling or using knives, peelers, choppers, or mandolins, or when cleaning a slicer.
- Use oven mitts, fryer gloves, or steamer gloves when handling hot pans from ovens, warmers, or steam tables.
- Wear slip-resistant shoes and use proper lifting techniques.
Responsibilities
- Sweep and mop floors to comply with safety and sanitation standards.
- Wash worktables, walls, refrigerators, meat blocks, and other food preparation surfaces.
- Remove trash and place it in designated containers; steam-clean or hose out garbage cans.
- Transfer supplies and equipment between storage and work areas.
- Assist with banquet table and front-of-house setup.
- Assist with loading or unloading and delivering supplies and products.
- Distribute supplies, utensils, and portable equipment as needed.
- Comply with outlined sanitation and safety requirements and company policies.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
