About The Position

Gourmet Dining & Chartwells Higher Education is hiring a part-time Food Service Utility associate at Long Island University-Shark Bite Dining in Brooklyn, New York. The role maintains kitchen work areas and keeps equipment and utensils clean and orderly. The schedule is Sunday through Saturday, with shifts listed as 10:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., including weekends. Pay is $18.00 to $18.50 per hour. Requirements

• Knowledge of NYDOH is required.
• Qualified candidates must be able to perform the essential functions of the position satisfactorily, with or without reasonable accommodation.

Nice To Haves

• Prior dishwashing or kitchen utility experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Sweep and mop floors in accordance with safety and sanitation standards.
• Wash worktables, walls, refrigerators, meat blocks, and other food preparation surfaces.
• Remove trash and place it in designated containers.
• Steam-clean or hose out garbage cans.
• Transfer supplies and equipment between storage and work areas.
• Assist with banquet table and front-of-house setup.
• Assist with loading, unloading, and delivering supplies and products.
• Distribute supplies, utensils, and portable equipment as needed.
• Comply with sanitation and safety requirements.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
