FOOD SERVICE UTILITY (FULL TIME)
About The Position
Maintains kitchen work areas and keeps equipment and utensils clean and orderly. The position includes cleaning floors, food preparation surfaces and garbage cans; moving supplies and equipment; assisting with banquet and front-of-house setup; and helping load, unload, deliver and distribute supplies, products, utensils and portable equipment. The role requires compliance with sanitation and safety requirements and may include other duties as assigned. This is a full-time position at Simpson Thacher, 425 Lexington Avenue, New York, NY 10017. The schedule is 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with days varying; further details are provided during the interview. Pay is $17.00 to $19.00 per hour. Previous cleaning and heavy pot-washing experience is required. Perks noted include PTO, meals, and a weekday schedule. Free meals, uniforms and laundering service are available at select locations.
Requirements
- Previous cleaning experience.
- Previous heavy pot-washing experience.
- Must be able to perform the essential functions satisfactorily, with or without reasonable accommodation.
Responsibilities
- Sweep and mop floors to comply with safety and sanitation standards.
- Wash worktables, walls, refrigerators, meat blocks and other food preparation surfaces.
- Remove trash and place it in designated containers; steam-clean or hose out garbage cans.
- Transfer supplies and equipment between storage and work areas.
- Assist with banquet table and front-of-house setup.
- Assist with loading and unloading and delivering supplies and products.
- Distribute supplies, utensils and portable equipment as needed.
- Comply with outlined sanitation and safety requirements.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
