About The Position

This is a professional position on a residential campus and is responsible for various duties to include: Will work as a member of the food services team to provide nutritional meals and safeguard the health residential clients, staff and visitors. Devereux GA Lawrenceville facility is a residential facility for female adolescents ages 12-17. Requirements

  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • Additional training in food preparation preferred.
  • Must be able to read at 12th grade level.
  • At least one year food preparation experience in an institutional setting.
  • Previous experience with the National Lunch Program is preferred.
  • Ability to lift 30 to 50 pounds, walk, run, stoop, kneel, push/pull and reach above shoulders.
  • Successfully pass pre-employment medical screenings which include: Drug Screen, Physical, Physical Abilities Test, TB Test and Influenza Vaccine
  • Valid driver's license
  • Devereux requires all individuals interviewing for a position involving contact with children to complete The Diana Screen, a screening that assesses a candidate’s understanding of appropriate boundaries between adults and children.

Responsibilities

  • Prepares and serves food in accordance with established menus
  • Monitors the use of food and prepares additional quantities as needed
  • Properly stores dietary supplies according to department procedures
  • Note any safety issues which will require immediate notification of Program Coordinator or School Office
  • Participate in Monthly Environment of Care inspections and ensure compliance with Joint Commission Standards of care.
