About The Position

The Food Service Staff is responsible for assisting with utilizing donations, inventory, and stock to prepare 3 meals daily for approximately 100+ clients, residents, and guests of the ministry while following all Serv-Safe, USDA, and OSHA practices to ensure nutritious, tasty, and appealing meals and ensuring prompt delivery to all locations.

Requirements

  • Serv-Safe certification
  • Knowledge of USDA practices
  • Knowledge of OSHA practices

Responsibilities

  • Utilize budget, donations, and other resources to ensure that three meals per day are provided for residents, clients, and non-resident guests.
  • Utilize volunteers and assigned residents to prepare and deliver meals.
  • Ensure that all equipment is properly maintained and in working order.
  • Train others in correct utilization.
  • Report to Direct Services any defects or repairs needed to equipment.
  • Operate all food services in compliance with established health and safety standards including Serve-Safe, USDA, and OSHA.
  • Accept and pick up donations, provide receipts, and coordinate with local business and food banks to maximize consumption and minimize waste.
  • Ascertain what donations can be used.
  • Designate surplus donation within community for consumption.
  • Ensure all donated food is properly receipted.
  • Transport and deliver food to other HOH locations.
  • Mentor/disciple residents assigned to work in kitchen.
  • Maintain inventory and storage of all consumables.
  • Interface with program staff to facilitate recovery and program completion of clients.
  • Complete required reporting and submit according to deadline.
