About The Position

Under the direction of the Food Service Coordinator, the Food Service Program Manager oversees and supports day-to-day food preparation and meal service operations for District specialized programs, including North Bay Children's Center (NBCC) and Expanded Learning Opportunities Programs (ELOP). The role prepares, cooks, and serves nutritious meals while maintaining food safety, sanitation, and program standards. The manager completes required CACFP training to understand and comply with federal food program requirements. The role collaborates with NBCC, ELOP, YMCA, a Sodexo consultant, and staff to coordinate and support effective student feeding, ensuring meals are served safely, efficiently, and in accordance with program guidelines.

Requirements

• One year of paid experience preparing and serving food in a cafeteria or restaurant.
• Basic understanding of food costs and ordering procedures.
• Knowledge of methods for preparing, cooking, and serving foods in large quantities.
• Basic reading and arithmetic skills.
• Basic principles and techniques involved in managing nutrition programs.
• Ability to prepare food suited to children's needs by following recipe cards.
• Ability to operate common commercial appliances found in a cafeteria.
• Ability to follow oral and written directions.
• Ability to maintain cooperative relationships with people contacted in the course of work.
