About The Position

The Food Service Host is responsible for ensuring guest satisfaction with food service by using customer service skills. The role delivers and serves nutritionally appropriate, attractive meals in a timely manner and follows appropriate food-handling techniques and food-safety procedures. Candidates must be available to work every other weekend and every other holiday from 12:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. A work permit is required for employees under 18 years old. Act 34 is listed under licensure, certifications, and clearances.

Responsibilities

• Follow hand hygiene and infection-control procedures consistently when interacting with customers.
• Follow department procedures for operating food-service equipment.
• Communicate customer complaints and concerns effectively with other health care team members.
• Sanitize the assigned work area according to departmental procedures and health department guidelines.
• Serve patient meal trays using the designated department script, including proper patient identification.
• Distribute and collect patient menus and obtain selected menus according to departmental procedures.
• Use customer-service skills when responding to meal-service requests to support customer satisfaction.
• Serve meals within established timeframes and meet departmental standards for appearance, food quality, and temperature control.
