About The Position

Sandy Health and Rehab is a skilled nursing and rehabilitation community serving residents who receive long-term and short-term care. The part-time Dietary Aide works with a supportive team to prepare and serve meals for a geriatric population, following menus, recipes, dietary needs, and resident-specific instructions. The role also involves keeping food preparation and dining equipment clean, maintaining infection control and safety standards, and communicating respectfully with residents, staff, and visitors. The position is scheduled from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. on weekends.

Requirements

High school diploma, equivalent, or enrollment in current high school courses.
Experience working in the kitchen of an institution that provides meals to large groups daily.
Ability to meet the facility's general health requirements.
Ability to see and hear, or use prosthetics that enable these senses to function adequately for the position.
Ability to perform the physical requirements of the role, including full range of body motion, handling and lifting objects, lifting/pushing/pulling 50–100 pounds unassisted, and standing or walking for long periods.
Ability to work in conditions involving exposure to body fluids and communicable diseases.

Responsibilities

Prepare hot and cold meals and beverages according to menus, recipes, and dietary needs.
Review tray cards for allergies, preferences, and special instructions.
Assemble meal trays with the correct dishware and adaptive equipment.
Serve meals and assist with delivery to residents.
Prepare and stock snack carts.
Clean dishes, utensils, and food preparation areas after use.
Follow established cleaning schedules and procedures.
Maintain infection control and safety standards.
Communicate respectfully with residents, staff, and visitors.
Attend trainings and meetings, and support additional assigned tasks.
