About The Position

The Food Service Coordinator is responsible for supervising and managing the food service operations at Camp Meriwether, including the food service team. This role involves maintaining inventory, placing food orders, creating nutritious menus, establishing efficient kitchen systems, and overseeing kitchen staff.

Requirements

Good interpersonal skills
Ability to communicate clearly with staff, parents, and campers
Experience in food service or related experience including menu planning, ordering and sanitation
Ability to select alternative menu options for
Current ServSafe certification in food service and sanitation or ability to obtain it
Supervisory experience and the ability to guide, motivate, and coach staff members
Ability to problem solve and make decisions
Ability to work as part of a team
Preferred minimum age 21
Ability to stand for extended amounts of time
Ability to lift 25 pounds
Must be able to complete & clear a Criminal and Sex Offender background check and have a clean Motor Vehicle Record.

Responsibilities

Assumes direct responsibility for Food Service including but not limited to: Maintaining inventory and placing food orders as needed
Creating a nutritious menu for campers and staff
Establishing clear and efficient systems in the kitchen
Supervising and managing the kitchen staff
Supporting food service in the dining hall as needed
Supervise and evaluate Food Service personnel and communicate early with director staff about potential problems
Assure that all operations follow ACA and Camp guidelines, as well as operate using ServSafe criteria.
Maintain and submit all required records pertaining to food storage
Evaluate equipment and submit works orders in a timely manner
Other duties as requested by the Camp Director
