About The Position

Food Service Coordinator Role & Responsibilities: Food Service Coordinators will be responsible for all aspects of meal service for the duration of the summer program. Key responsibilities for the Food Service Coordinator position include: Arrive on time and stay until you are scheduled to leave (7:30 AM - 3:00 PM). Ensure all food is safe and service areas are sanitary. Feed scholars breakfast, lunch, and snack according to schedule. Monitor that all scholars receiving meals are input into School Cafe. Put away orders and stay organized. Enforce School Rules in the cafeteria / MPR. Document safe temperatures on temperature log. Report to Food Service Manager any issues with equipment. Report to Food Service Manager any food needs or shortages. Fill in temperature logs and daily packing slips the Food Service binder. Review the next food order with the Food Service Manager. COMPENSATION & HOURS: $20 per hour working from 7:30 AM - 3:00 PM with a 30-minute unpaid lunch break. Deadline to apply: May 8, 2026 Qualifications Key components of the program include: Mandatory Training Summer School + Excursions Training June 22, 8:00-4:30 - led by Joseph Gambino and Sara Williams Summer School + Excursions Training and Site-based Prep June 23, 8:00-4:30 - led by Joseph Gambino, Sara Williams, and Summer School Site Lead and Principal A 5-week student academic program: June 24 to July 24, 2026 Daily scholar schedule from 8:00 am – 5:00 pm Internal staff applicants need to be in good standing with no attendance issues. UNFORTUNATELY, WE CANNOT ACCOMMODATE SPECIAL SCHEDULES DUE TO OUTSIDE OBLIGATIONS. YOU MUST BE ABLE TO COMMIT TO WORKING THE ENTIRE SUMMER PROGRAM. What does a typical day look like? 8:00 - 8:15 am - Breakfast served 8:15 - 8:30 am - Morning Meeting 8:30 - 9:15 am - English Language Arts 9:15 - 9:25 am - BREAK 9:25 - 10:10 am - English Language Arts 10:10 - 10:20 am - BREAK 10:20 - 12:00 pm - Math 12:00-12:15 pm - Dismissal & Excursions Check-In 12:15-12:45 pm - Scholar Lunch (Excursions Scholars Only) 12:45-5:00 pm Enrichment activities through Fortune Excursions

Requirements

  • Internal staff applicants need to be in good standing with no attendance issues.
