This year, we are launching an expanded Summer Food Program featuring non-congregate feeding at three locations across the District: Hidden Valley High, Illinois Valley High, and North Valley High Schools. Each location will distribute 7-day meal boxes once per week on Wednesdays, replacing the previous two-pickup model. The pickup window will also be expanded to 11:00 AM to 6:00 PM to better support family schedules and increase participation. Each location will be staffed with a minimum of four positions working seven hours per day, five days per week. Up to 20 positions are available depending on program demand. Service will run from June 5th through August 14th, 2026, for a maximum of 50 days. Some applicants may be hired as substitute staff to fill in as needed. Existing Food Service staff will be compensated at their regular rate. District employees participating in the program will retain their step placement and be paid at the FS II rate. New employees will be placed at the FS II, Step 1 rate. Any Food Service employees assigned to Kitchen Manager roles for the summer program will be compensated accordingly based on that assignment. JOB SUMMARY Works with Food Service team members preparing nutritious and attractive meals for students and staff while maintaining a clean kitchen and cafeteria and observing all Health Department regulations to create a safe and healthy work environment.
