About The Position

The University of Nevada, Lake Tahoe campus is recruiting for two Food Service Cook/Supervisor 2 positions. This position does not provide layoff rights and is contingent upon funding. This position is responsible for assisting the Assistant Executive Chef and the Executive Chef in running and maintaining successful business operations in Social House, Catering, Community Engagement Events, and the Coffee Venue. This position will report directly to the Assistant Executive Chef and will provide support to all other team members as needed. The Food Service Cook will ensure all food that is served is wholesome and nutritious and done so in accordance with all Health Code Standards.

Requirements

  • Graduation from high school or equivalent education and three years of experience which involved preparation and serving of food according to standardized menus in a military, institutional, correctional, healthcare, hospitality, or other large quantity food service facility; OR one year of experience as a Food Service Cook/Supervisor I in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience as described above.
  • TAM (Techniques of Alcohol Management) or equivalent certification.
  • ServSafe Certification or equivalent certification.
  • Must submit to a pre-employment screening for controlled substances.

Responsibilities
