About The Position

The representative ensures a high level of customer service while supporting patient satisfaction and adherence to prescribed dietary guidelines within a healthcare environment. This role involves answering incoming calls, verifying patient information, entering and updating meal orders, and delivering trays. The position also includes responsibilities for service to retail operations and handling cash transactions.

Requirements

High School diploma or equivalent preferred
Food Service Handlers Certification (MHC, HH, HMC, Cancer Institute) within 30 days of hire
Food Allergens Certification within 30 days of hire
6 months of technical experience, preferred
Intermittent hand manipulation required
Intermittent lifting and carrying of 50 pounds
Required to stand for periods of up to 4 hours

Responsibilities

Answer incoming calls from patients in a professional, courteous, and timely manner
Verify patient information, room numbers, and dietary restrictions prior to order entry
Enter and update meal orders accurately in the food service or electronic health record (EHR) system
Maintains clean work area following all safety and sanitation guidelines
Enters and reports cash transactions
Adjusts meals to meet the needs of the patient while following doctor’s orders
Delivers and retrieves trays using required patient identifiers in all interactions
Follows established portion control guidelines when serving food and beverages
Responsible for service to retail operations
