About The Position

SSA Group is hiring a Food Service Bartender for evening bartending during Zoo Lights at Henry Vilas Zoo, from November 12 through December 23. The role supports SSA’s hospitality approach by creating warm, welcoming, and memorable guest experiences. The bartender oversees product quality, stock, and inventory; serves guests efficiently and responsibly; and handles bar setup, service, breakdown, and cleanup. The position also involves maintaining a safe and organized work environment, communicating with leaders and coworkers, following company policies, and supporting inclusive, community-minded, and sustainability efforts.

Requirements

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills, along with the ability to stay organized.
• Ability to remain flexible in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to operate all equipment necessary to perform job duties.
• Physical ability to stand for extended periods and move and handle boxes weighing up to 35 pounds, including lifting.
• Ability to work varied hours and days, including nights and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Deliver warm, welcoming, and memorable experiences for every guest and client.
• Oversee product quality, product levels, and inventory.
• Fulfill guest needs quickly and efficiently and resolve complaints effectively.
• Set up, operate, break down, and clean the bar during each shift.
• Demonstrate knowledge of alcoholic drinks and bartending techniques while prioritizing guest service.
• Serve guests responsibly and maintain a safe environment.
• Maintain a friendly and approachable attitude toward clients, guests, and staff.
• Communicate clearly and openly with leaders.
• Maintain a sense of urgency and a professional appearance and manner.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
• Uphold and demonstrate understanding of company policies and procedures.
• Promote an inclusive and supportive approach within the Brand team and across units.
• Help remove barriers and empower growth and opportunity for team members.
• Lead by example in sustainability and conservation efforts, and share relevant knowledge with unit staff.
• Support community engagement activities and opportunities to give back.
• Perform other tasks as necessary.
