About The Position

The Food Service Assistant supports food preparation and service at Mount Pleasant Elementary School. The role also involves handling money and counting back change, cleaning food-service areas and equipment, and following sound safety and health practices. The assistant performs other duties as assigned by the Cook, Site Coordinator, or Director of Food Service. The position is scheduled for 3.5 hours per day, 17.5 hours per week, and is available ASAP. Starting pay is a minimum of $16.40 per hour, depending on experience and/or SNA certification.

Requirements

• Must be physically capable of performing job duties, including walking, bending, and standing for long periods.
• Must be able to lift and carry, with assistance, objects weighing a minimum of 50 pounds.
• Must be able to work with a variety of food-service and cleaning-related products.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in food handling is desirable.
• Cashiering experience is desirable.
• SNA certification may affect starting salary.

Responsibilities
