About The Position

Grants Pass School District No. 7 is seeking a Food Service Assistant for South Middle School for the 2026-2027 school year. This position works 3.75 hours per day for 183 days per year, typically from August to June. Requirements

Equivalent to completion of the twelfth grade.
Must be able to obtain a Food Handlers Card upon date of hire.
Knowledge of methods and ability to prepare main dishes, salads, sandwiches, desserts, and other foods.
Ability to work with recipe portion counts.
Ability to use basic kitchen utensils and equipment.
Ability to handle money.
Maintain cooperative relationships with fellow employees.
Ability to get along well with students.

Nice To Haves

Bilingual and biliterate in Spanish preferred.

Responsibilities

Prepare main dishes, salads, sandwiches, desserts, and other foods.
Work with recipe portion counts.
Operate basic kitchen utensils and equipment.
Supervise student helpers if required.
Handle money.

Benefits

$16.47-$23.79 per hour dependent on approved accepted experience/education.
