About The Position

Sanford Health is hiring a full-time Food Service Assistant for the Dakota Food Court. The position works Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and one weekend per month at the Main Cafeteria. The role requires strong customer service skills.

The Food Service Assistant monitors and records food temperatures, prepares and serves food, sets up and maintains clean and sanitized serving areas, restocks food areas, cleans and sanitizes equipment, and processes payments for food and beverages using a computerized register. The role follows Hazardous Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP) guidelines and maintains quality control standards. On-the-job training is provided.

Requirements

• Minimum age of 16 years.
• Ability to read, write, and follow oral and written directions.
• Ability to perform basic math.
• Ability to work independently when necessary.
• Understanding of food safety and sanitation processes.
• Ability to be on feet for most of the day and walk long distances.
• Great customer service skills.
• ServSafe certification may be required within a designated time frame, depending on the hiring location.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) may be required depending on location requirements.

Nice To Haves

• Experience working in the food industry.
• Previous customer service experience.
• Retail counting and reconciliation of money experience.
• Knowledge of food service.
