About The Position

Food Service Assistants are responsible for assisting with the preparation of meals, ensuring residents receive nutritious and appetising meals that contribute to their overall wellbeing and quality of life. This role operates within a respectful and collaborative environment, joining a supportive dynamic team with a strong focus on providing outstanding, friendly, and compassionate service. The position involves providing friendly and compassionate service to residents, ensuring their dietary needs and preferences are met.

Requirements

• Knowledge of food safety and hygiene requirements
• Food Handlers Certificate (essential)
• NDIS worker screening check (essential)
• Previous food service industry experience, ideally in the health care sector
• Track record of providing excellent service and customer experience
• Effective communication skills
• Demonstrate a good work ethic
• Ability to work autonomously as well as in a team environment
• A flexible approach and willingness to work shifts, including weekends and public holidays
• Experience in operating kitchen equipment: dishwasher
• Great attention to detail
• Excellent ‘can do’ attitude
• Good presentation, with a happy outlook
• Ability to calmly work under pressure and to identify and resolve problems
