They utilize software to balance nutrients according to physician-prescribed diets and patient allergies, maintain patient information, and generate reports. Additionally, the role involves working with line expeditors, loading and transporting food carts, and communicating patient needs to relevant departments. Safety and sanitation standards are crucial, including following isolation precautions and using safe food handling techniques. The position also includes inventorying and ordering floor stock supplies on patient units.
