The Food Safety & Quality Internship (Summer 2027) is a 10-12-week paid assignment. This intern will provide support on a variety of food safety research projects including: Heavy metals in root vegetables, Phytonutrients in fruits and vegetables, Assessing soil amendments for root vegetables. Updating our current knowledge to support optimizing our food safety plan by reading current literature and reviewing Federal and State regulations. The internship is designed to provide a student with real world experience to support professional development. Students would have the opportunity to participate in roundtable discussions, corporate meetings, networking events and/or community activities. Internships will involve value added assignments with the opportunity to interact with various departments to acquire relevant skills. The focus of projects would be in support of product testing, data analytics and new product innovation support. Potential for internship to lead to full time employment after graduation!
