About The Position

The Food Runner position at Orchid Court Breakfast is a casual role within a luxury, upscale, and fast-paced environment. The primary responsibility is to provide unique dining experiences to guests through warm, personal, and detailed service. This role ensures a positive first impression of the restaurant by maintaining detailed cleanliness, set-up, and ambiance control. The Food Runner is responsible for the distribution and delivery of guest food orders to their tables, ensuring accuracy and promptness. They must also maintain complete knowledge of all Food & Beverage services, contents, preparation methods, outlets, and hotel services. Additionally, the role involves assisting servers with garnishing menu items, maintaining chinaware cleanliness, monitoring food quality and consistency, and ensuring the service line station is clean and orderly. The Food Runner will also manage daily requisitions for condiments and ensure adequate stock levels of dishware, linen, and condiments. A key aspect of the role is to personalize service by remembering individual patron names and preferences. All food and beverage must be served according to service standards. The position includes performing opening/closing side duties, setting tables according to standards, and assisting other Food & Beverage outlets during peak times. Adherence to hotel food safety and hygiene standards (HACCP) and fire & life safety/emergency procedures is crucial. Maintaining a high standard of personal appearance and hygiene is expected, along with performing other reasonable duties assigned by management.

Requirements

  • Ability to focus attention on guest needs, remaining calm and courteous at all times
  • Good reading, writing and oral proficiency in English language
  • Ability to speak other languages and basic understanding of local languages will be an advantage
  • Ability to work cohesively and collaboratively as part of a team
  • Detailed & service oriented with an eye for detail to be self-motivated and energetic.
  • Provide the necessary State and Federal Requirements to work in Food and Beverage (Tuberculosis Clearance)
  • Must be legally eligible to work in the United States. The hotel is unable to assist candidates in obtaining U.S. work authorization.

Responsibilities

  • Provide unique dining experiences to all of our guests through warm, personal & detailed service in a luxury, upscale and fast paced environment.
  • Ensure a positive first impression of the restaurant for our guests through detailed cleanliness, set-up and ambiance control.
  • Distribution and delivery of guest’s food orders out onto the service floor and serving them at their tables to the correct guest
  • Maintain complete knowledge of all F&B services, contents & preparation methods, outlets and hotel services/features
  • Assist servers in proper garnishing of all menu items ordered
  • Maintain cleanliness of all chinaware. Monitor quality and consistency of all menu items being served
  • Maintain clean and orderly condition of the service line station.
  • Daily requisition of all food condiments and to ensure adequate stock levels of all necessary dishware, linen and condiments for daily service operations
  • Try to remember individual patron’s names and their preferences to extend a personalized service
  • Ensure that all food & beverage are served according to service standard
  • Perform opening/closing side duties as assigned and set all tables according to standards and procedures
  • Assist other Food & Beverage outlets with their operations during peak times or when required
  • Apply necessary precautions with regards to the hotel food safety and hygiene standards (HACCP)
  • Be well versed in hotel fire & life safety/emergency procedures
  • Maintain a high standard of personal appearance and hygiene at all times
  • Perform other reasonable duties assigned by the Management of the Hotel
