About The Position

The Orchid Court offers hearty breakfast options and an extensive island buffet. Guests can grab a cappuccino at the Orchid Court bar or take their time over our mouthwatering breakfast buffet, featuring a made-to-order omelet station, classic dishes, Hawaiian go-tos, fresh pastries and seasonal fresh fruit. This role provides unique dining experiences to all guests through warm, personal & detailed service in a luxury, upscale and fast-paced environment. The Hostperson will ensure a positive first impression of the restaurant for guests through detailed cleanliness, set-up and ambiance control. They will maintain complete knowledge of all F&B services, contents & preparation methods, outlets and hotel services/features. The Hostperson will also up-sell and promote food and beverage offers at every available opportunity to maximize sales revenue, pick up and serve food and beverage orders, and ensure that food and beverage are served promptly to the guests once they are ready. A key aspect of the role is to try to remember individual patron’s names and their preferences to extend a personalized service and ensure that all food & beverage are served according to service standards. The Hostperson will clear and tidy up tables after the departure of patrons as quickly as possible, perform opening/closing side duties as assigned, and set all tables according to standards and procedures. They will also assist other Food & Beverage outlets with their operations during peak times or when required, apply necessary precautions with regards to the hotel food safety and hygiene standards (HACCP), and be well versed in hotel fire & life safety/emergency procedures. Maintaining a high standard of personal appearance and hygiene at all times is crucial, along with performing other reasonable duties assigned by the Management of the Hotel.

Requirements

  • Ability to focus attention on guest needs, remaining calm and courteous at all times
  • Good reading, writing and oral proficiency in English language
  • Ability to work cohesively and collaboratively as part of a team
  • Detailed & service oriented with an eye for detail to be self-motivated and energetic.
  • Provide the necessary State and Federal Requirements to work in Food and Beverage (Tuberculosis Clearance)
  • Must be legally eligible to work in the United States. The hotel is unable to assist candidates in obtaining U.S. work authorization.

Nice To Haves

  • Ability to speak other languages and basic understanding of local languages will be an advantage
