About The Position

The Food Preparers are responsible for the preparation and serving of all food and the cleaning and maintenance of all stoves, ovens, food preparation equipment and cooking utensils under the direction of the cafeteria manager. This role involves cooking and baking food items as necessary for the menu, filling serving tables, serving food, and replenishing the serving line as needed. The position also includes responsibility for the cleanliness of refrigerators and freezers, accounting for milk and food items, assisting with inventories, and maintaining a clean and sanitary food preparation environment. Other duties may be assigned by the Director of Food Service.

Requirements

• Ability to cook and prepare food for large numbers.
• Previous experience in a similar size kitchen.
• HS Diploma or GED
• Willingness to earn the school food service Level 1 Certification
• Minimum of 3 references
• Background check completed
• Ability to communicate effectively

Responsibilities

• Prepares all entrees and side dishes.
• Cooks and bakes food items as necessary for the menu.
• Fills the serving tables, serves the food, and replenishes the serving line as needed.
• Responsible for contents and cleanliness of all refrigerators and freezers.
• Accounts for all milk and food items and assists in preparation of all inventories.
• Maintains all food preparation tables, equipment and cooking utensils in a clean and sanitary manner.
• Performs other duties as assigned by the Director of Food Service.
