About The Position

Southside Market & Barbeque is seeking a food preparation team member to support its growing business and historic BBQ legacy. The role focuses on preparing consistent, premium-quality food while supporting excellent customer service and Texas-friendly hospitality. This part-time position involves following recipes and preparing food according to business needs, setting up and stocking service and preparation areas, packaging side items and desserts, and keeping the prep area clean and organized. The work involves regular use of commercial kitchen equipment in a usually moderate-to-loud environment.

Requirements

• Food Handler Certificate required.
• Ability to read and follow recipes.
• At least one year of preparation or cooking experience required.
• Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently for job-related circumstances.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
• Ability to solve practical problems and handle situations with limited standardization.
• Ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Regular use of commercial kitchen equipment.
• Frequently stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, and talk or hear; regularly reach with hands and arms; often lift and/or move up to 40 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Follow recipes and prepare food according to business needs.
• Set up the food service line, drink station, and preparation area each day.
• Regulate production and package side items and desserts.
• Prepare and stock the line with appropriate side items.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the preparation area.
