About The Position

Its mission is to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ and to meet human needs in His name without discrimination. This position is Full Time - Mon - Fri, 8AM - 4:30PM, Pay rate starts at $12/hr. The primary purpose of this role is to manage the food pantry, including the intake process.

Requirements

• High School diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
• Ability to be flexible and able to work on multiple projects or tasks simultaneously.
• Intermediate skills in Microsoft software to include Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access.
• The ability to access payroll, timekeeping and personal data via a web-based system.
• Administrative skills to include utilization of standard office equipment, data entry, 10-key, attention to detail and filing.
• Good communication skills both written and spoken, and ability to maintain effective working relationships.
• Demonstrated ability to handle confidential matters.
• Must pass all applicable background checks.
• Must possess a valid driver's license from the state in which you reside.
• Must be approved through The Salvation Army Fleet Safety Program to drive either a Salvation Army or personal vehicle on Salvation Army business.
• Must successfully complete Safe from Harm training within 90 days of hire, as established by The Salvation Army.

Responsibilities

• Greet visitors/clients in a friendly manner.
• Answer phone and direct calls to appropriate personnel.
• Secure and enter necessary client information into database.
• Ensure pantry equipment is stocked and cleaned.
• Attend meetings as required.
• Responsible for sorting and stocking personal care items.
• Serves as a backup for the Social Services Case Worker and assist clients with various needs including, but not limited to intake interviews, Client Referrals, Rent/Utility Assistance and Hotel Vouchers.
• This position will serve as a back-up driver for the Feeding America pick up.
• All other duties as assigned.
