About The Position

Sodexo is seeking a strategic and results-driven Food Operations Manager to join our leadership team in North Michigan. This position involves regional travel to multiple sites and locations across Eastern and Northern Michigan. Candidates should be prepared to spend time on the road visiting different facilities, ensuring consistent support and collaboration across the region. Reliable transportation and flexibility to accommodate varying schedules are essential. A valid driver’s license and acceptable driver’s license record check is required. Sodexo offers a range of services to healthcare facilities, including food, nutrition, environmental, facilities management, healthcare technology management, retail, and patient experience services. Requirements

  • A strong background in food service operations, including experience overseeing retail cafes and culinary production teams
  • Are strong mentors, trainers, and coaches for frontline employees
  • Can manage multiple priorities, demonstrate professional communication skills, and a passion for a high level of customer service
  • Have exceptional organization, attention to detail, and a self-starter mindset
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
  • 3 years minimum management experience
  • 3 years minimum functional experience in food or culinary services including restaurants, fast food, vending, catering services, institutional services, mall food courts, etc.
  • A valid driver’s license and acceptable driver’s license record check is required.

Responsibilities

  • Provide food operations support across several locations to ensure operational consistency and excellence
  • Drive P&L performance across the area, managing budgets, labor, and retail revenue while identifying opportunities for growth
  • Ensure all locations meet or exceed Sodexo’s regulatory compliance standards
  • Create and deliver innovative and enriching cafe experiences for patients, family and staff daily
  • Manages cash handling protocols & control procedures according to Sodexo policies
  • Mentor, develop, and retain frontline staff
  • Develop and maintain client and customer relationships
