About The Position

The Food Operations Assistant Director supervises Food Service staff and inmates in preparing and serving meals to the correctional population, ensuring compliance with applicable policies. The position manages food service operations to meet health, safety, and security requirements, and is responsible for budgeting, procurement, food storage, timekeeping, and schedule management.

Requirements

• Working knowledge of large-volume food operations, sanitation, and food safety standards.
• Working knowledge of computers and Microsoft Office programs, including Outlook.
• Skill in operating food service equipment.
• Demonstrated ability to supervise staff and/or inmates in a food service environment.

Nice To Haves

• ServSafe Certification.
• Working knowledge of Department of Corrections policies and procedures for Food Services.
• Food service experience in a correctional, educational, hospital, or similar institutional environment.
