Responsibilities include communicating with partners like the FDA and other state agencies, performing audit checks to ensure firms have corrected issues, and monitoring activities related to misbranded or adulterated items to determine the scope of food safety violations and trace foods to their source. The position also involves communicating required actions to responsible establishments and conferring with establishments that frequently violate food safety laws. Additionally, the role includes conducting periodic audits of sample reports as required by the FDA Manufactured Foods Regulatory Program Standards (MFRPS) grant, and planning/implementing corrective actions and training for field staff. This position may also develop and approve continuing education courses for retail food store operators on food safety and audit courses.
