About The Position

As an F&B Supervisor Intern at Nemacolin, students have an opportunity to experience the world of luxury dining operations throughout hands-on rotations within one of the resort’s many food and beverage outlets. The program is designed to develop the student’s expertise across multiple service roles, such as server, server assistant, food runner, and restaurant maître d’, while gaining exposure to guest service, restaurant operations, team leadership, and resort-wide hospitality. Through immersive learning and an experiential project within their assigned restaurant outlet, the intern will build the skills and perspective needed to advance their career in hospitality and restaurant management. The selected candidate will be assigned to one of the following restaurants: Lautrec, Gusto!, Fawn & Fable, or Aqueous.

Requirements

  • High school diploma required
  • Currently enrolled as an upperclassman (or recent graduate) of a bachelor’s degree program in hospitality management, restaurant management, or a related discipline
  • Previous hospitality industry experience required
  • Fluency in English required
  • Ability to work varying shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Ability to complete a consecutive 12-week internship

Responsibilities

  • Create exceptional dining experiences by developing the service knowledge and operational skills needed to support guests throughout their dining journey while upholding high service standards.
  • Gain versatile hospitality expertise through rotations as a server, server assistant, food runner, and restaurant maître d’, giving you a comprehensive understanding of how different roles work together to deliver seamless service.
  • Engage in confident guest interactions by developing detailed menu knowledge and the ability to respond thoughtfully to guest questions and service needs.
  • Ensure seamless service flows by serving as an effective communication bridge between front-of-house and back-of-house teams, helping ensure information moves efficiently and service remains coordinated.
  • Provide prepared and personalized poolside experiences by accurately confirming cabana reservations prior to guest arrival and developing an understanding of the pool complex’s layout and operational flow.
  • Expand beverage-service capabilities through exposure to basic bartending principles and opportunities to support beverage and bar operations as business needs require.
  • Develop stronger leadership skills by serving in a supervisory capacity within your assigned restaurant outlet, providing team support, coaching associates, and delegating tasks to promote development and operational efficiency.
  • Gain a broader understanding of hospitality leadership through participation in management meetings and exposure to the responsibilities and collaboration required across resort departments.
  • Achieve meaningful professional growth through an experiential project focused on a learning objective within your assigned restaurant outlet, allowing you to apply your academic knowledge to a real-world hospitality environment.
