About The Position

Four Seasons is seeking individuals who are passionate about hospitality and possess a keen attention to detail to join their Food & Beverage team as a Food & Beverage Outlet Manager. This role is based in one of Boston's most luxurious hotels, the Four Seasons Hotel One Dalton Street, Boston. The hotel is a Forbes Five-Star establishment located in the heart of Back Bay, offering spacious guest rooms, a spa, chic restaurants, and event spaces. Requirements

  • College degree preferably specializing in hotel/restaurant management or equivalent experience is required.
  • One to two years as department head or two to three years previous experience in an assistant manager position in Food & Beverage.
  • Requires a working knowledge of division operations as well as Four Seasons cultural and core standards, policies, and standard operating procedures.
  • Knowledge of food & beverage service, cost control, labor control, maintenance, merchandising, and accounting.
  • Requires ability to operate computer equipment and other food & beverage computer systems.
  • Requires reading, writing and oral proficiency in the English language.
  • Must already be legally permitted to work in the United States. Applicants without valid work authorization for the United States will not be considered.

Responsibilities

  • Select, train, evaluate, lead, motivate, coach, and discipline all employees, supervisors and assistant managers in the Hotel’s Food & Beverage areas to ensure that established cultural and core standards are met, long-range strategic planning for outlet operation.
  • Be visible in the operation, provide recognition, promote good public relations, and handle complaints, concerns or special requests for guests, clients, and group contacts.
  • Provide expert knowledge of wine and spirits and ensure quality of all food or beverage items, ingredients, and preparation methods, in an elegantly appointed environment dedicated to an attentive and distinctive experience while following and maintaining all local, state, and federal laws relating to alcohol service and consumption.
  • Work closely with the Director of Food & Beverage, Executive Chef and Sous Chefs to design an effective menu and wine list while ensuring excellent product quality at a fair price.
  • Attend regular operational meetings to ensure effective coordination and cooperation between departments.
  • Control labor and operating expenses through effective scheduling, budgeting, purchasing decisions, and inventory and cash control.
  • Observe physical condition of facilities and equipment in the outlet and make recommendations for corrections and improvements as needed.
