About The Position

Live Nation Entertainment is the world’s leading live entertainment company. The Food & Beverage Manager at the Commodore Ballroom will be responsible for overseeing beverage programs, ensuring operational excellence in F&B outlets, and leading staff development. This role requires a blend of creativity, leadership, and business acumen to manage both high-capacity concerts and private events.

Requirements

  • 3+ years in F&B operations with a proven track record in high volume environments and Special Event/Banquet execution.
  • Solid working knowledge of wine varietals, and spirits.
  • Must have a background in mixology with the ability to create original cocktails and pair beverages with food for private event clients.
  • Proven experience in coaching, developing staff, and managing a diverse team in a fast paced environment.
  • Strong business aptitude with an understanding of beverage costs, margins, and inventory systems.
  • Must be Serving It Right certified and at least 19 years of age.
  • Experience using POS and inventory systems.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills; ability to consult with private clients on beverage needs and lead a team under pressure.
  • You effectively balance professionalism and adaptability to suit different environments from private events to large scale concerts.
  • Must be able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by the show and event calendar.

  • WSET Level 1 or 2 is a significant asset.
  • Square & Yellow Dog experience an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Partner closely with the Special Events team to design and execute customized beverage programs for private clients, including bespoke cocktail creation and wine pairings tailored to specific event themes and menus.
  • Act as the venue’s primary resource for beverage innovation; stay ahead of industry trends to maintain a relevant and profitable wine and spirits program.
  • Maximize guest satisfaction by ensuring all bars and F&B outlets are functioning at peak performance for both 1,100 capacity concerts and intimate private events.
  • Develop service standards and training programs focused on elevated mixology, wine service, and high volume hospitality.
  • Lead from the front during events; ability to run the venue floor, pivot quickly, and support staff to ensure a seamless guest experience.
  • Oversee purchasing and maintain par levels with a focus on inventory control.
  • Adhere to B.C. provincial regulated Health & Safety guidelines as per WorkSafeBC, as well as Live Nation’s global standards, to promote a clean and safe work environment.
