About The Position

The City of Kingman is seeking an experienced food and beverage professional with strong leadership, organizational, and customer service skills to build a positive team culture, provide exceptional service, and effectively manage multiple priorities. This position will oversee daily bar and restaurant operations at the Cerbat Cliffs Golf Course, develop and implement strategies to achieve business goals, and enhance the guest experience. The role involves planning, managing, and overseeing daily operations, creating and implementing plans to achieve annual food and beverage business goals, identifying opportunities to maximize sales, developing and monitoring the budget, and overseeing staff selection, training, scheduling, supervision, and evaluation.

Requirements

  • Graduation from high school or GED equivalent.
  • Minimum of 19 years of age or older.
  • Two or more years’ experience in supervising bar and restaurant activities.
  • Possess a valid Arizona state driver’s license or ability to obtain one upon hire.
  • Required to possess and maintain current bartender license or alcohol sell/server permit as provided through the Basic: Title 4 Alcohol Certification for Individuals certification as approved by the Arizona Department of Liquor Licenses and Control. Must receive certification within 30 days of hire to the position.
  • Required to possess and maintain current food manager’s certification as provided through Mohave County Public Health, Environment Health Division, ANSI-accredited food manager certificate/card or a current food manager card issued by Mohave County within Arizona. Must receive certification within 30 days of hire to the position.

  • Knowledge of federal, state, and local laws regarding liquor service, food preparation health and safety regulations.
  • Operation of golf carts and related equipment.
  • Understand and follow directions given by supervisor; Learn and understand restaurant and bar laws, rules and regulations.
  • Adapt to changing work priorities.

Responsibilities

  • Greet guests, provide prompt, courteous and friendly customer services.
  • Create and implement a plan to achieve annual food and beverage goals and identify opportunities to maximize sales.
  • Take guest food and beverage orders, cook and serve food, and mix and serve drinks as required.
  • Accurately collect payment of sales and process through point of sale system.
  • Develop menu and budgets for food, beverages and supplies; manage and maintain inventory.
  • Identify vendors for product quality and proper pricing, making purchases of food, beverage, supplies and equipment.
  • Assist in marketing and promoting bar and restaurant; recommend changes to improve functions and processes.
  • Safely utilize cooking and cutting utensils and tools, cookware, grills, fryers and other kitchen related equipment.
  • Manage equipment maintenance and repairs.
  • Enforce compliance with all food and beverage regulations set by Mohave County Health Department and Arizona Department of Liquor and License Control, and other federal, state and local regulations for proper food and beverage temperature, storage, handling and serving alcoholic beverages.
  • Utilize proper procedures in serving alcoholic beverages (verify legal drinking age and/or discontinuing service to intoxicated customers).
  • Ensure established cash handling procedures are followed.
  • Reconcile cash register sales with daily sales reports; prepare accounting reports for receipts and deposits as directed.
  • Develop operational and financial data, and create reports for Golf Professional.
  • Maintain neat and orderly work area.
  • Perform regular, daily maintenance and cleaning of the inside and outside of restaurant and bar area, as well as, equipment and utensils used in food preparation and delivery.
  • Ensure bar and restaurant facilities are clean, safe, secure and aesthetically pleasing.
  • Participate in selection of bar and restaurant staff and developing staff schedules.
  • Maintain harmonious staff relations; promote a positive work environment and enforce policies and procedures.
  • Train, develop and delegate work assignments.
  • Follow procedures for proper opening and closing of bar and restaurant.
  • Maintain positive professional and effective working relationships by providing exceptional customer service.
  • Perform all work duties and activities in accordance with City policies and procedures; follow safety policies and practices, work in a safe manner, and report unsafe activity and conditions.
  • May operate golf cart on premises.
  • Perform related and special assignments as required.
