About The Position

Commerce Casino is the world’s largest card casino offering more than 200 tables. This role is responsible for the control of payments for goods and services by receiving and disbursing funds and recording transactions at various casino food and beverage outlets. The Food & Beverage Cashier is responsible for the accuracy and accountability of their individual cash bank, performs basic accounting skills, and operates a POS system. They must possess professional telephone skills and process and close all POS orders ordered during their shift in accordance with company accounting procedures. The position also involves performing opening and closing shift duties, maintaining a professional appearance and performance, and possessing expert knowledge on all menu items to increase guest satisfaction, including specials, ingredients, and preparation. Depending on the venue, the cashier may also perform basic preparation of menu items, garnishes, and sides. They must verify F&B items released from the kitchen are recorded on a check and carried with established company policies, and that orders comply with stipulated kitchen standards through visual checks. Additionally, they assure that items leaving the kitchen are in accordance with Health Department guidelines. All other work-related duties as assigned by the Food and Beverage Supervisor or Food and Beverage management will also be performed.

Requirements

  • 2-3 years cash handling experience.
  • Must obtain and maintain a Food Handler’s or ServSafe Card
  • High School Diploma and/or equivalent experience.
  • Must be able to speak, read and understand English.
  • Strong verbal and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to stand the entire shift excluding breaks and meal periods.
  • Must demonstrate a positive, enthusiastic approach to all assignments.
  • Attendance and punctuality are an essential function of this position.
  • Must be able to work a full-time schedule during tournaments and other peak business periods.
  • Must be able to work overtime, as business needs require, with or without advance notice.
  • Must possess an ability to work with minimal supervision and make educated ethical decisions as necessary.
  • Must be able to resolve conflicts and have effective communication skills with all levels of employees and be able to work effectively and collaboratively in a team environment.
