About The Position

This position is for a Server/Bartender in a restaurant setting. The role requires a friendly customer service attitude to describe the menu and daily specials, take orders, communicate them to the kitchen, serve food timely, calculate bills, and ensure customers have a positive dining experience. The work environment can be loud and may involve hazards such as cuts, slips, trips, falls, and burns. The role is very active, requiring standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, and crouching, with occasional lifting up to 20 pounds. The position regularly requires long hours and frequent weekend work.

Requirements

Must be of legal age according to state regulations to serve alcohol.
Prior server experience.
Ability to follow all sanitation procedures.
Ability to work in a team atmosphere.
High school diploma or food safety training.

Possess a good memory to clearly convey ingredients from menu items and food and drink specials.

Responsibilities

Maintain a helpful and service-oriented customer service approach at all times.
Present menus and help customers select food and beverage choices.
Clearly communicate menu items and daily specials to diners.
Make recommendations to customers and answer questions regarding menu items.
Listen intently to the customer’s order and accurately communicate orders to chefs for preparation.
Deliver food on time to customers.
Work with hostess, bartenders, cooks and runners to create a pleasant dining experience.
Set up tables before, during, and after the shift to prepare for the next diners.
Deal with complaints or problems with a positive attitude.
Use professional language at all times with customers.
Accurately calculate bills, present checks to customers, and process payment methods expeditiously.
