The AMS Food Bank, located in the Rideau Building Room 105, provides confidential and non-judgmental food services to members of the Queen's community. As a non-profit organization, it aims to offer food services in a comfortable environment, primarily relying on donations and an opt-outable student fee. Funds are used for purchasing fresh produce and other essential items weekly, ensuring Queen's students can maintain health and productivity for academic success. The Food Bank also addresses the root causes of poverty and collaborates with relevant community organizations. Alongside the Food Bank, the PEACH Market (Providing Equal Access, Changing Hunger) is a food-forward initiative complementing existing food access programs. Operating on a sliding scale, patrons can self-select prices, upholding dignity and autonomy by providing access to nutritious food at a low cost.
