About The Position

The Food and Beverage Manager is a vital part of our management team and is responsible for overseeing all Food and Beverage (F&B) activities at the property. This involves setting budgets, bringing on new staff, training them, and making sure they are performing at their best. The F&B Manager will use all skills and insights to ensure guests are always happy and satisfied, sometimes even exceeding their expectations.

Requirements

  • Must have one to three years of related experience in F&B management
  • Must be proficient in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Knowledge of pertinent health regulations and liquor laws
  • Must have food and beverage, à la carte, and banquet experience
  • Must have strong business aptitude
  • Must have strong service orientation
  • Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Must be highly organized, efficient, and detail-oriented
  • Must have exceptional interpersonal skills

Responsibilities

  • Provides daily management of the Front of House F&B Department
  • Hires, supervises, and develops bartenders, beverage cart drivers, snack bar attendants, and other employees in the Front of House F&B Department
  • Conducts training and refresher classes for all Front of House F&B personnel in the correct procedures
  • Provides daily oversight of Front of House F&B accounting procedures
  • Manages forecasting and budgets pertaining to F&B operations
  • Maintains cost controls and conducts a monthly inventory
  • Implements and maintains F&B sales and marketing programs
  • Develops and implements marketing programs to increase banquet business
  • Manages alcohol and beverage ordering; follows the purchase order (PO) buying process
  • Oversees quality assurance, guest service, and training of all employees
  • Upholds Troon Food and Beverage policies
  • Institutes and implements all Troon Human Resources guidelines
  • Facilitates coordination between all departments
  • Develops and implements creative strategies to increase revenues
  • Plans and coordinates special events and functions
  • Responsible for overall guest satisfaction
  • Ensures all employees are conducting themselves in a professional manner
  • Performs daily walk-through to ensure full compliance with Department of Health regulations
  • Complies with applicable health, alcoholic beverage, fire, and other local and state laws
  • Oversees closing procedures and appropriate cash handling practices
  • Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor or manager
