About The Position

Columbia Hospitality is seeking an experienced Food & Beverage Manager for Hotel Vance. This role is crucial in upholding and exceeding the hotel's reputation for exceptional dining experiences, particularly concerning its wine list. Success in this role means creating exceptional experiences for guests and contributing to the growth and efficiency of the food and beverage operations.

Requirements

  • At least 3 years of food service leadership/supervisory experience.
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, clients, customers, and the public.
  • Computer knowledge including Word, Excel, Outlook.
  • Basic knowledge of POS is preferable.
  • Must be flexible and able to perform multiple tasks and work in stressful situations.
  • Ability to create a team environment within and across departments.
  • Strong computer literacy in Microsoft Office, especially Word, PowerPoint and Excel.
  • Strong general management skills, including time management, information analysis, planning and organizing, decision making, problem solving, and delivery of results.
  • Strong financial management skills, including budget management, expense control, forecasting and analysis of financial statements.
  • Strong people management skills, including coaching, motivating, delegating, scheduling and relationship-building.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare weekly schedules for Front of House staff, managing labor costs based on business fluctuations.
  • Collaborate with department leaders to manage menus, inventory, and ordering.
  • Submit payroll for front of house staff by the deadline each pay period.
  • Conduct hiring for front of house staff for all outlets in coordination with the General Manager.
  • Meet with distributors and wine makers, and attend off-site tastings to maintain and enhance the wine list's reputation.
  • Train and supervise all front of house staff on proper service etiquette and menu knowledge.
  • Plan private parties in coordination with department leaders.
  • Oversee all aspects of front of house service for the restaurant(s).
  • Manage the floor operations, including table assignments and ensuring efficient flow between front and back of house.
  • Empower proper service etiquette in all outlets.
  • Conduct yearly performance reviews with all year-round front of house staff in coordination with the General Manager.
  • Promote staff cross-training and increase efficiency with department leaders.
  • Develop and maintain a marketing strategy targeting clientele and attracting new customers in coordination with the General Manager.
  • Enhance food and beverage amenities with department leaders.
