About The Position

The Food and Beverage Concierge is responsible for providing exceptional service across multiple functions including Host duties at Union Restaurant, In-Room Dining (IRD), and Barista services at Inkwell Café & Bar. This role requires a flexible and attentive individual who can manage reservations, deliver food and beverages, prepare specialty drinks, and handle guest inquiries and transactions with professionalism. The position emphasizes delivering warm, attentive service that reflects The Press Hotel's brand standards, adhering to all health and safety regulations, and collaborating effectively within a team to meet business needs.

Requirements

  • Successful completion of a satisfactory background check.
  • Available and willing to work flexible hours based on business needs, including midweek and weekend days.
  • Ability to remain standing for up to 8 hours.
  • Ability to walk the property and grounds frequently.
  • Ability to move up and down stairs regularly.
  • Ability to move quickly based on guest needs.
  • Ability to regularly move and lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to use repetitive manual dexterity, such as typing, polishing, using hand tools, and fixing small items.
  • Ability to visibly survey property areas clearly.
  • Ability to view a digital computer/tablet screen for extended periods, up to 8 hours.
  • Ability to communicate and exchange information effectively, often in a public/group setting.
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
  • Must know how to prioritize, delegate, and respond in a timely fashion.
  • Able to work under pressure, multi-task, and stay focused while maintaining hospitality.

Responsibilities

  • Greet, welcome, and seat guests at Union Restaurant, managing reservations and waitlists to optimize guest experience and operational capacity.
  • Answer phones, take reservations, and respond to guest inquiries promptly and professionally.
  • Maintain an organized and clean host stand and entrance area.
  • Communicate special requests, allergies, and VIP information to the service and culinary teams.
  • Assist with guest concerns and coordinate with management for timely resolution.
  • Accurately take, enter, and confirm in-room dining orders, upselling menu items as appropriate.
  • Prepare, set up, and deliver in-room dining orders to guest rooms, ensuring presentation, accuracy, and timeliness.
  • Set and stage trays and tables to brand standards, verifying complete and correct orders.
  • Retrieve trays and tables from guest rooms and hallways promptly and courteously.
  • Handle guest payments and charges accurately, following established procedures.
  • Maintain comprehensive knowledge of menus, allergens, and daily offerings.
  • Prepare and serve high-quality espresso drinks, coffee, tea, and specialty beverages at Inkwell Café & Bar.
  • Operate and maintain espresso machines, grinders, and café equipment, ensuring cleanliness and proper calibration.
  • Serve pastries, light fare, and grab-and-go items, maintaining freshness and presentation.
  • Serve beer, wine, and other alcoholic beverages responsibly and in compliance with regulations.
  • Operate the POS system, process transactions accurately, and handle cash and card payments.
  • Keep the café and bar area stocked, clean, and welcoming.
  • Deliver consistently warm, attentive, and professional service reflecting The Press Hotel brand.
  • Adhere to all health, safety, sanitation, and alcohol-service regulations and standards.
  • Collaborate as a flexible team member, supporting various outlets and shifts based on business needs.
  • Maintain accurate cash handling and follow all financial and reporting procedures.
