About The Position

The Food Pantry Process Coordinator is responsible for assisting in GraceWorks food processing operations, engaging and supervising food processing volunteers, ensuring quality and safety standards for rescued food, and maintaining organized, safe warehouse operations. This role supports the efficient movement of food from rescue pickup through distribution readiness while upholding food safety, organizational standards, and a positive volunteer experience.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • A valid driver's license.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow food safety standards.
  • Ability to work in a warehouse environment, including lifting, standing, and repetitive tasks.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working or volunteering in a food pantry, warehouse, food service, or nonprofit environment preferred.
  • Experience supervising or working alongside volunteers is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Food Acquisition Assistant Manager by supervising, training, and assisting Food Processing Volunteers to ensure tasks are completed accurately, safely, and efficiently.
  • Provide clear instructions, feedback, and ongoing support to promote a positive and productive volunteer experience.
  • Monitor volunteer workflows to ensure consistency with food safety and pantry standards.
  • Perform quality assurance checks on rescued food to confirm items meet food pantry safety and distribution guidelines.
  • Identify, separate, and properly discard food items that do not meet quality or safety standards.
  • Ensure compliance with food handling, storage, and sanitation protocols.
  • Assist with rescue food pickups as needed, including loading, unloading, and initial inspection of food donations.
  • Coordinate with drivers and staff to ensure timely and safe transportation of rescued food to the warehouse.
  • Oversee proper placement and storage of food items in the warehouse, ensuring accurate categorization, labeling, and rotation (FIFO).
  • Maintain warehouse organization to support efficiency, cleanliness, and accessibility.
  • Ensure warehouse safety protocols are followed, including proper lifting techniques, equipment use, and hazard awareness.
  • Report safety concerns, maintenance needs, or operational issues to the Food Acquisition Assistant Manager.
