About The Position

Iceland Attendants distribute and receive parkas or jackets for guests visiting Iceland and monitor guest interactions inside the exhibit. They also assist with housekeeping throughout the exhibit. The role is authorized to take reasonable action needed to carry out assigned duties, consistent with position guidelines, company and department policies and procedures, and supervisory directives. Employees are expected to exercise sound judgment and initiative and prioritize accuracy and attention to detail.

Requirements

• Must be reliable and responsible.
• Must be able to work well with large groups.
• Must be available to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Strong interpersonal and customer relations skills.
• Must be able to stand for long periods.
• Ability to work in a cold environment of 9 degrees for up to one hour.
• Ability to carry or push 30 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Assist with opening procedures, including cleaning the preshow area, queue lines, Ice Land, and the parka room.
• Provide positive guest interactions while distributing and receiving parkas or jackets.
• Keep parka and jacket bins organized.
• Assist with moving parka and jacket bins to the Hotel for cleaning.
• Monitor guest safety inside the exhibit, including enforcing safety rules.
• Perform other duties as assigned; duties may change as management deems necessary to serve Moody Gardens’ needs.
