About The Position

AHC Hospitality represents a diverse array of hotels, restaurants, and resorts, providing exceptional experiences for guests. This role is with the Amway Grand Plaza Kitchen by Wolfgang Puck. The FOH Supervisor will follow the expectations of the Amway Grand Plaza Hotel and the Wolfgang Puck Corporate brand standard, including AHC+Hospitality guest service standards and the Wolfgang Puck steps of service program. The goal is to create a teamwork environment and produce quality service to each guest, always looking to provide an extra degree of service.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Responsible alcohol service certification from a MLCC recognized program; TIPS or SERV Safe
  • 1+ years supervisory experience in a high-volume restaurant or hotel is preferred
  • Time management skills including punctuality and using time at work efficiently
  • Selfless Leadership skills to guide and inspire staff
  • A general understanding of the logistics of the food and beverage service industry
  • Strong Organizational skills
  • Problem Solving and Conflict Management skills, with the ability to think quickly on their feet
  • Flexibility and willingness to learn with on the job training
  • Customer Service and Interpersonal skills to create and foster positive relationships
  • Consistently displays a Positive Attitude
  • Clear Communication skills to effectively convey information to guests, staff, and management

Nice To Haves

  • A two-year degree from an accredited college or University is preferred
  • SERV Safe Manager certification is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate integrity, honesty, and knowledge that promote culture, values and mission statement of the Amway Grand Plaza.
  • Maintain and model a calm demeanor during periods of high volume or unusual events, keeping the department operating to standard and setting a positive example for the team.
  • Oversee the training programs for all staff.
  • Assure the highest level of guest standards are met on a daily basis.
  • Oversee professional correspondence to clients in multiple forms of communication.
  • Assist other managers on the floor in a management capacity, demonstrating the ability to manage the restaurant on off days and cover for vacations as needed.
  • Responsible for adherence to hotel service standards, control of labor expenses, effective inventory management of small wares, linens and furniture, effective scheduling and supervision of banquet staff and assuring guest satisfaction.
  • Participate in an "aggressive hospitality program," greeting all guests with warmth and enthusiasm, and be attentive to their needs.
  • Learn and follow all hotel policies and procedures pertaining to your area of work, including uniform standards and other company policies.
  • Practice safety standards and report all unsafe conditions.
  • Provide fast and courteous service to guests by maintaining a well-organized work area.
  • Conduct yourself in a professional manner at all times as a goodwill ambassador of the AGPH to ensure guest satisfaction.
  • Directly responsible for the adherence of grooming standards for FOH staff.
  • Maintain a high level of sanitation and cleanliness in service areas.
  • Be visible in the public space during all meal periods to ensure guest needs are being met.
  • Monitor the restaurant during daily operations.
  • Provide floor coverage during open hours, including table touches and handling any guest concerns or bringing concerns to management with urgency.
  • Display a sense of urgency and the ability to resolve guest concerns or department issues independently.
  • Be proficient in both Opening and Closing paperwork.
  • Communicate clearly, concisely and accurately to ensure effective department operations with Associate Staff and Management.
  • Hold staff to set standards including running side work and closing side work.
  • Submit Daily Orders.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
