About The Position

We are currently seeking Flux Core Welders to support an industrial power plant project at Dominion Energy in Goose Creek, SC. This is an excellent opportunity for experienced, safety-conscious welders with strong experience in FCAW (Flux-Cored Arc Welding), including both standard carbon steel and Inconel flux core welding.

Requirements

  • Previous Flux Core Welder/FCAW experience in an industrial environment required.
  • Demonstrated experience welding 1/2" carbon steel plate in 2G, 3G, and 4G positions.
  • Experience with Inconel flux core welding using ENiCrMo-3 T1-4 (F43) FCAW.
  • Experience with E71T-1M (F6) FCAW.
  • Experience performing back grind and back weld procedures.
  • Ability to read and interpret welding procedures, blueprints, drawings, and job specifications.
  • Ability to properly set up and operate welding equipment.
  • Strong understanding of FCAW welding processes and safety practices.
  • Ability to work in an industrial power plant environment.
  • Ability to perform physically demanding work, including standing, walking, lifting, climbing, bending, and working outdoors as needed.
  • Strong commitment to safety, quality, and teamwork.
  • Must be dependable and able to work the scheduled 6/10's schedule.
  • Pre-employment drug test required.

Responsibilities

  • Perform flux core welding on 1/2" carbon steel (C.S.) plate in 2G, 3G, and 4G positions.
  • Perform Inconel flux core welding on 1/2" carbon steel plate using ENiCrMo-3 T1-4 (F43) FCAW.
  • Perform standard flux core welding using E71T-1M (F6) FCAW.
  • Perform welds using 2G, 3G, and 4G positions as required by the project.
  • Perform back grinding and back welding on carbon steel welds as required.
  • Read and interpret welding procedures, blueprints, drawings, and job specifications.
  • Set up and safely operate welding machines and associated equipment.
  • Inspect welds and ensure they meet project specifications and quality standards.
  • Prepare, fit, align, and weld materials according to specified welding procedures.
  • Maintain proper welding techniques, including control of heat, travel speed, and weld placement.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Follow all company, client, and site safety policies and procedures.
  • Work safely and efficiently while supporting daily project operations.
