About The Position

Eurofins Professional Scientific Services is seeking a skilled, collaborative scientist to support immunology-focused research through flow cytometry. The position works directly at a client site in Cambridge, Massachusetts, characterizing peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMCs), primary cells isolated from human biospecimens, and organoid models. The scientist will apply hands-on expertise in multiparameter flow cytometry, immunophenotyping, assay development, and data analysis while collaborating with cross-functional teams supporting discovery and translational research.

Requirements

  • B.S. or M.S. with 8 or more years of experience, or Ph.D. with 3 or more years of experience.
  • Degree in Biology, Immunology, Cell Biology, Biotechnology, or a related field.
  • Hands-on flow cytometry experience, including sample preparation, staining, acquisition, and analysis.
  • Working knowledge of PBMC isolation, primary human cell handling, and immunophenotyping techniques.
  • Experience with organoid models and/or human biospecimens, and awareness of related handling and quality considerations.
  • Strong understanding of immune cell markers and flow cytometry assay design.
  • Proficiency with flow cytometry analysis software such as FlowJo, FACSDiva, or equivalent.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and documentation skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, fast-paced research environment.
  • Authorization to work in the United States without restriction or sponsorship.

Responsibilities

  • Design, optimize, and execute multiparameter flow cytometry assays to characterize immune and non-immune cell populations.
  • Support immunophenotyping of PBMCs, primary cells derived from human biospecimens, and organoid-based models.
  • Develop and validate antibody panels for cell lineage, activation state, phenotype, and functional readouts.
  • Perform sample preparation, staining, instrument setup, compensation, quality control, and acquisition on flow cytometers.
  • Analyze flow cytometry data using appropriate software and statistical methods; generate figures, summaries, and reports.
  • Collaborate with client-team scientists and broader Immunology teams on experimental design and interpretation.
  • Document protocols, experimental conditions, and results in compliance with internal standards.
  • Troubleshoot issues related to sample handling, staining performance, instrument operation, and data quality.
  • Contribute to method development for emerging sample types, including organoids and scarce human biospecimens.
