About The Position

The Floral Associate creates high-quality floral arrangements and seasonal displays for a variety of occasions, holidays, and celebrations. The role combines creativity and attention to detail in a high-volume, fast-paced environment to enhance the customer experience and drive sales. The associate maintains fresh, well-stocked floral displays, keeps current with seasonal trends, and collaborates with team members to keep the department vibrant, organized, and inviting. The position also involves providing customer assistance with floral selection, wrapping, and arrangements; maintaining merchandise quality and department cleanliness; and safely handling flowers, tools, and equipment. The work may involve varying temperatures, moderate exposure to dust and cleaning agents, and regular standing or walking throughout a scheduled shift.

Requirements

Basic knowledge of plant and flower care, including the ability to differentiate among flowers, plants, and related merchandise and understand their indoor and outdoor care needs.
Strong teamwork, organization, time management, and planning skills.
Excellent communication and active listening skills.
Reliable transportation and dependable attendance.
Non-slip shoes are required for safety while working in the department.
Ability to work in varying temperatures, including hot, humid, and cold environments, and tolerate moderate exposure to dust and cleaning agents.
Must be able to work with a wide variety of fresh floral products without adverse allergic reactions.
Regularly stand and/or walk for the duration of a scheduled shift.
Frequently bend, twist, reach, push, and pull.
Regularly lift and/or move objects up to 25 lbs. and occasionally lift and/or move objects up to 50 lbs.
Clear vision and hearing to ensure safety, accuracy, and effective communication.
Ability to climb step stools or ladders as needed.

Responsibilities

Create and maintain visually appealing floral displays that are well-stocked, signed, fresh, and organized.
Follow proper flower-handling and safety practices, including care for delicate or specialty florals.
Accurately price floral merchandise and rotate products according to store quality standards.
Provide warm, attentive, and knowledgeable customer service, including assisting with floral selection, wrapping, and arrangements.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the floral department to meet sanitation and quality expectations.
Safely use tools and equipment required for floral preparation, following all safety guidelines.
Stay current with seasonal trends and collaborate with team members to keep the department vibrant, organized, and inviting.
